Ragon Earl Broussard

1945 - 2012

— Ragon Earl Broussard, 67, of Porum, Oklahoma passed away Monday November 12, 2012.  He was born October 28, 1945 in Beaumont, Texas to Moise Broussard and Lola Edna Holst Broussard.  Ragon grew up in Beaumont, Texas where he graduated high school.  He joined the United States Navy serving for four years during the Vietnam War from which he received an honorable discharge. He was a Bronze Star recipient.  Ragon later worked for Kansas City Southern Railroad Company from which he later retired.  He was known for his love of the outdoors, sitting on his porch drinking coffee and listening to the coyotes howling. He enjoyed coyote hunting with his Running Walker dogs and his good friends, Cecil and Gene. Ragon loved to watch things grow; he planted 144 trees in 2 years.  He also had 144 chickens on his farm along with his beloved 13 Running Walker dogs.

Ragon met and later married Denise Englebretson Bales on December 31, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Rhonda Broussard.

Ragon is survived by his wife, Denise Bales Broussard of the home; his daughter, Robin Broussard; his sons, Randall Ragon Broussard,  James Broussard, Raven Broussard, and Ragon Hunter Broussard; his grandson, Christopher Groff; his stepchildren, Tim Bales and wife Lyndzi, Kirsten Harrison and husband Danny, Darin Bales and wife Jessica, and Sasha Bales; step grandchildren, Jaxon and Anison Bales, Hannah and Levi Harrison, Abbygail Bales; mother of his children, Lynn Broussard and Stephanie Broussard.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 16, 2012 at Calvary Faith Tabernacle in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma with Rev. Don Reed officiating.  Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with full military honors.  Pallbearers will be Tim Bales, Darin Bales, Danny Harrison, James Broussard, Rodney Hobbs, and Eugene Hobbs.

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, OK.  Condolences may be sent to the family at
