Dovis Patricia Bouyer Oulds

1939 - 2013

— Dovis Patricia Bouyer Oulds was born to the union of Luthur and Johnnie Veldas Bouyer on July 29, 1939 at 12:45 pm to in McAlester, Oklahoma.

Patricia accepted Christ and was baptized in February of 1949 by the late Rev. M. M. Williams, Pastor of East Star Baptist Church, McAlester, Oklahoma. She played the piano for the Sunday School and Baptist Training Union services and later played the piano for the Junior and Senior Choirs. Patricia also played the piano for other area churches including Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.

Patricia attended Carbon Rural School and L'Ouverture High School, after which she graduated on May 30, 1958. She participated in the Collate District Association until she moved away.

Patricia moved to Oklahoma City with her mother Veldas and stepfather Ted L. Oulds  on July 4, 1958. The family united with New Zion Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. T. Abrams. She played the piano for her church and the East Zion District Young Matrons. She also played the piano for OKC area churches.

Patricia was united in marriage to Master Bennett on August 8, 1959. To this union, 2 daughters and 1 son were born. They later divorced. Patricia later married and divorced Melvin Forrest.

Patricia worked in Oklahoma City as a teacher’s aide for Community Action.  She also attended Business College. She was a provider in Oklahoma City and Eufaula, Oklahoma.

Patricia moved to Eufaula, Oklahoma to help care for her grandmother.  She reunited membership with Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. Patricia played the piano for several area churches. Patricia also held her position in the Collate District Association as a music teacher. Patricia’s talent was playing the piano and helping in whatever way she could. She didn’t let her declining health interfere with serving the Lord, because she truly loved the Lord.

Patricia later united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she continued to play the piano and serve the Lord.  Patricia loved and was well loved by everyone who knew her.

Patricia was preceded in death by her mother Veldas Oulds, her father Luthur Bouyer, her stepfather Ted L. Oulds, her grandmother Anna Williams and her grandson Ashley Oulds.

Patricia leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Cheryl Oulds of Eufaula,Oklahoma, her son Ted R. Oulds of Ansbach Germany, her daughter Karen Oulds of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a close cousin Eula Gregory of Eufaula, Oklahoma, her grandsons Tyson Dow of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lloyd Oulds-Jones and Christopher Oulds both of Eufaula, Oklahoma, ten great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
