Funeral services for Luther “Mutt” Shelby, 89, of Webbers Falls, OK, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 1, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Webbers Falls with Reverend Jason Ravan and Reverend Wendell Cox officiating. Pallbearers will be James Ward, Jerry Ward, Tommy Ward, Larry Ward, Michael Ward, Darrell Ward, Steven Edwards, Gary Edwards, John Sheffield, Greg Vann, and Rick Shelby. Burial will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls.

Luther was born June 30, 1923 at Webbers Falls, OK, the son of Roy Lee and Trucie Elizabeth (Turner) Shelby and died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Muskogee. Luther entered the U.S. Army in 1943 and served his country until 1946. On November 6, 1946 he married Daisy Ward in Webbers Falls. Luther farmed and worked in civil service for 20 years. He was a lifelong resident of the area and member of the First Baptist Church in Webbers Falls.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Daisy of the home; son, Kenneth of the home; brothers-in-law, Eddie Ward and LouAnn, Wayne Ward and Shirley; Joe Ward and Lucy; sisters-in-law, Billie Edwards and Jean Vann Coburn; cousins and other loved ones.

In memory of Luther, the family prefers memorials to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 156, Webbers Falls, OK, 74470.
