Rita Emma Morgan

1933 -2013

— Rita Emma Morgan, 79, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 surrounded by her family.  

She was born October 22, 1933 in Hampton, Minnesota to Julius Simon and Eva Ludwig.  Rita grew up in Hampton where she attended school.  She met and later married Carl Raymond Morgan on July 19, 1957.  They celebrated 55 years of marriage.  Rita was a homemaker and enjoyed making a happy home for her family. They moved to Muskogee approximately 40 years ago.  Rita was proud of her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.   

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Lawrence Simon and Greg Simon; her brother-in-law, Charles Brock; and her granddaughter, Eva Marie Conaway.

She is survived by her husband, Carl; her children, Ronald Morgan of Seattle, WA, Carl Morgan Jr. and wife, Becky of Muskogee, Steven Morgan of Sallisaw, OK, Jack Morgan and wife Keri, Margaret Amos, all of Muskogee; her grandchildren, Erica Morgan, Emily Conaway, Jimmy Morgan, Caitlynn Morgan, Hunter Morgan; her great grandchildren, Ethan Morgan, Taryn and Preslei Beason; her sister, Bernie Brock; her sister-in-law, Mary Simon; her nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

The family requests memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 6600 S. Yale Ave., Ste 1310, Tulsa, OK 74136 or;  or St. Joseph Catholic Church, 323 N. Virginia St., Muskogee, OK 74403.

Memorial services celebrating the life of Rita will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2013 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Father Mike Knipe celebrant.
