Delane Howell

1935-2013

Delane Howell 78, of Muskogee, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 at Eastar Health Center in Muskogee. Delane was born February 20, 1935 in Paris, Arkansas, the daughter of Carl Estes and Bertha Ocie (Callahan) Biggs. She graduated from Muskogee Central High School and married Ashton Park Howell January 13, 1951. The couple made Muskogee their home. Delane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved being with and caring for all her family especially around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season.

Delane was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Deborah June; three sisters; and three brothers. She is survived by her husband, Ashton of the home; three daughters, Lynda Shoaf and Ron of Tulsa, Donna Fisher and Brian of Broken Arrow and Diane Hewitt and Jack of Coweta; eight grandchildren, Michelle Peet, Brian Abel, Angela Salazar, Stephanie Miller, Laura Sanmiguel, Carleigh Fisher, Jenifer Hamma, and Jamie Yott; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 in the Bradley Belltower Chapel with Pastor David Howell officiating. Interment will follow at 12 noon in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.
