Funeral services for Gary Lavan Cox, 58, of Gore, OK, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 11, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Webbers Falls with Reverend Wendell Cox officiating. Pallbearers will be Bill Shanks, Joe Stone, Keith Eldridge, David Girty, Kyley Girty, and Ronnie Pevehouse. Honorary pallbearers will be John Hediger, Nolen Pevehouse, Johnny Hughart, and R. D. Brown. Burial will be in Vaught Cemetery under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls.

Gary was born July 28, 1955 at Muskogee, OK, the son of Larry and Jean Ann (Turley) Cox and died Monday, October 7, 2013 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. On June 25, 1995 he married Lisa Girty in Webbers Falls. Gary was a lifelong resident of the area. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and long haul truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa of Gore; mother, Jean Ann Cox of Webbers Falls; brother, Jamie Cox of Summers, AR; daughter, Heather Locklear Sly and Shawn Sly of Webbers Falls; grandchildren, Hayleigh Dawn McCraw of Gore, Jaycee Locklear of Webbers Falls, Jaxton Colt Sly of Webbers Falls; two nieces, Cassandra Hunt and Lacey Young of Jackson, Louisiana; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; many, many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Cox; and son, Roy D. Callison II.
