Angel Helene Ro’Chelle Cotton

1990 - 2014

March 25th, 1990 was a rainy day with a silver lining … an Angel was born to Thelda LaTonda Cotton (“Tonda”) and Bobby J. Masters. Angel Helene Ro’Chelle Cotton, the only child of Tonda, was baptized at Central Missionary Baptist Church. She attended Harris Jobe Elementary. Angel enjoyed basketball, music, and drawing. She attended Indian Capitol Vo-Tech where she studied Culinary Arts. In 2008, Angel graduated from Muskogee High School. After graduation, Angel relocated to Houston, Texas.

After obtaining an Associate’s Degree from Houston Community College, Angel attended Texas Southern University, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Determined to finish her degree after a short break, Angel transferred to the University of Houston where she was scheduled to graduate with her Bachelor of Science in Accounting in December 2014.

Known for her smile, laughter, and love of life, Angel left an impression on every person who had the pleasure to know her.

Angel was preceded in death by her father, God mother Johnanna “Nana” Wesley, maternal grandparents, and her uncles, Joey Teague, Sr. and Roy Cotton. She passionately loved her family and has collected a host of beloved friends.

Angel passionately loved her family and leaves a legacy of love for those who are struggling to say goodbye.

To cherish her precious memories, she leaves her mother and best friend, Thelda LaTonda Cotton, Angel’s boyfriend Demetrick Gordon of Houston, TX; Kayci and Azalea Teague, Terry Smith, Jr., Joi Warrior and family, Joey Teague, TraMesha Teague, Nathaniel Stancle, Christie Brooks (Brandon), Tangela Earls (Dustin), Hiram Stancle, Brianne Teague, Kara Monk, Brittney Monk, Sedalia Parker; John Cleveland, Her uncle Coy Allen, Sr., aunts CaSandra”Dianne” Monk, Helene “Lani” Smith (Terry), Angela “Bernadette” Teague, Lolita “Gallie” Teague, Agatha Teague, Kelley Gaines, Gloria Teague, Sonja Sharp, Ommie Cotton, Ronda Martin, Delbert Jackson, Jr. and Family, Steven Jackson and Family, Caryn Jackson; Karis Jackson and Family, Vivian Page and Family, Jimecca Warrior, Candace Williams, Mario Taylor, Also her brothers Malcolm Collins and Kerwin Thomas, Priscilla “Maw Maw” and Delbert “Paw Paw” Jackson, Mark Walters, Aunt Florence Taylor, Kevin Taylor, Keith Taylor, George, God sisters Tatianya “Tia” Godfrey and Jamesha Wesley, both of Kansas City, MO., Vivian Braggs, Houston friends including Cory, Jimmy, Mike, HD, her HEB family, Office Depot family, and a host of extended family and friends in Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, California and Texas who were dear to her. Our Angel is in the arms of the angels. Rest now, you are home.

The Sacred Farewell will be shared on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Most Holy Sanctuary of the Timothy Baptist Church. Pastor Kelly Payne is the gracious host, Rev. Ray K. Gaines, Pastor of Central Missionary Baptist Church, the Officiant and Rev. Craig Taylor, Sr., Pastor of True Light Missionary Baptist Church of Houston, Texas, the Eulogist.

The Christian Committal will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee. You may visit Angel, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., on Friday from 12 Noon until 7 PM.  Friends may convey condolences and sign the online register at www.biglowfunerals.com.
