Patricia Lou Long

1942 - 2012

— Patricia Lou Long, 70, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Monday, October 22, 2012.  She was born April 24, 1942 in La Jolla, California to Clarence Walter Rowe and Ila Maud Steward Rowe.  Pat attended Snyder High School from which she graduated in 1961. She met and later married Richard Merl Long on December 16, 1958 in Lawton, OK.  Pat worked many various jobs including furniture sales, in a sewing factory, car sales, at Fort Sill mess hall, as a bookkeeper, and at Walmart.  She left Walmart to move in with her daughter and son in law to be a full time live in grandma to Rachel. Lastly, Pat was involved in the children’s ministry at First Baptist Church in Muskogee.  Pat felt she had truly found her calling.  

She was loved and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Pat as preceded in death by her husband, Richard Merl Long; her parents, Clarence Walter and Ila Maud Rowe; and her sister-in-law, Frances Long.

She is survived by her son, Steven Long and wife Rene of Independence, KS; her daughter, Karrie Throgmorton and husband Dennis of Muskogee; her granddaughters, Geneva Long of Springfield, MO, Amber Long of Mt. Vernon, MO, and Rachel Throgmorton of Muskogee, OK; her (soon-to-be) great granddaughter, Miranda Gosnell; her brother, Mike Rowe and wife Sheila of  Crosby, TX; her sister, Marlene White and husband Mike of Merit, TX; her brother-in-law, Melvin Long of Blue Grove, TX; her nephews, Darren White, Jason Rowe, Kevin Rowe, Breck Long; her nieces, Shannon Bek, LuAnne Reeves, Charlotte Sutton, Carol Jo Freed; and a host of many loved great nephews, nieces, cousins, and special friends.

The family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Children’s Ministries, 111 S. 7th, Muskogee, OK, 74401.

A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Muskogee with Dr. Lance Sawyer officiating.  

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, OK.  Condolences may be sent to the family at
