Funeral services for George A. Syfrett, age 72, of Wagoner, OK will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the Bradley Belltower Chapel in Muskogee. Pallbearers will be the Muskogee Fire Department Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers area Jim Hunzeker, Roger Folsom, Curtis Jackson, Phil Trussell, Jerry Whitlock, John O’Rear and Robert Rhoden.
George was born June 21 1941 in Lawton, OK to Cora Bessie and David Theodore and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 28, 2013. He was a graduate of Muskogee High School and served in the U. S. Air Force. George was a proud retired Captain from the Muskogee Fire Department and also retired from Muskogee Regional Medical Center and the VA Hospital in Muskogee. He was an avid golfer and big fan of the OU Sooners.
His survivors include his wife, Sharon L. of Wagoner; daughter, Jenifer McClure & husband, Donnie; daughter, Wendee McClure & husband, Darryl, and the girls’ mother, Sharon Thomas, all of Tahlequah; daughter, Rebecca Smiser of Wagoner; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; a special sister-in-law, Ruby Nell Syfrett of Tulsa, OK, and sister-in-law, Robbi Clinkscales and her husband, Worth of Tulsa; two very special nieces, Judy Shore and Cathy Nunn, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, David, Allen, and Robert.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for loving care and support by Dr. Kammie Caldwell, Dr. Satish Kohli and especially his hospice nurse, Justine Boyd, RN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Choice Hospice of Wagoner. Visitation of family and friends will be Monday, December 2, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Service.
