Mrs. Thomas grew up in Haskell where she attended school and eventually met and married her high school sweetheart, James William “Tommy” Thomas. They were married June 26, 1943, after his enlistment in the US NAVY. After his service, they resided in Muskogee. In 1960, they moved to Durant, Oklahoma, where they spent the next twelve years raising their three children, returning to Muskogee in January, 1973.
