Glen David Slinker

1947 - 2013


— Glen David Slinker passed away at Muskogee Regional Medical Center on April 15, 2013, at the age of 66.

Glen was preceded in death by his brother Jon Slinker and his parents Robert and Pauline (Hess) Slinker.

Glen is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte of 38 years; his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Crystal Slinker of Keller, TX; his son, Jason Slinker of Richardson, TX; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Harold Callies of Norman, OK; his brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Donna Slinker of Hurst, TX; his sister-in-law, Carolyn Puckett of Paragould, AR; his granddaughters, Avery and Addilyn; his nieces, Erica, Marti, and Kristin; and his nephews, Jon, Bryce, Ian, and Eric.

Glen was born and grew up in Lamar, MO, and graduated from Lamar High School in 1965.  He joined the Air Force serving two tours in Vietnam and was the recipient of the Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross. He went on to earn a degree in Business from Southern Nazarene University in 1974.

Glen worked in sales and purchasing for over 20 years in Tulsa, Little Rock, Duncan, and Muskogee.  He was actively involved in the local Church of the Nazarene.  He enjoyed singing in quartets as a young man, singing in the choir at church, serving on the church board, fellowshipping with friends, bowling, playing pool, and serving those in need.

The visitation will be held at Foster-Petering Funeral Home, 904 West Okmulgee, Muskogee, OK, on Wednesday, April 17, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.

Funeral services will be held at Muskogee First Church of the Nazarene, 2700 E. Peak Boulevard, Muskogee, OK, on Thursday, April 18 at 10:00 am with Reverend Monty Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, 1423 Cemetery Road, Fort Gibson, OK, at 12:00 pm.

If preferred in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Youth Ministries of the Muskogee First Church of the Nazarene.
