Sidney Leon Miller, Jr.


Sidney Leon Miller, Jr. was born to Sidney, Sr and Lula Mae Robinson Miller, on July 30, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the third oldest of four children. Professing a hope in Christ at a young age he united with the Church of Christ in Rentiesville, OK. After graduating high school, Sidney entered the military, serving in the United States Army. Being a “Jack of all Trades”, Sidney possessed many talents such as welding, furniture upholstery, house painting, auto mechanic and restorer. He was also a great cook and well known for his delicious barbeque. He retired from the Honey Springs Battlefield Historical site. Living most of his life in Rentiesville, Sidney made his home in Checotah after marrying his love, Darrylynn Toliver in 2005. On Tuesday, July 23rd, 2013, God called Sidney’s name  and summoned him to Paradise. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Johnny. Those he leaves behind include his devoted wife, Darrylynn, His loving children, daughter, Kisses Miller and son, Julian Miller, both of Kansas City, MO. Step sons Sa’Brione Tolliver and Rodrico Brooks, both of Checotah, OK and Gennaro Tolliver (Amy), Okmulgee, OK. Four grandchildren Logan, Noble, Julian Jr (Junie) and Ka’Mauri. His sister Ruth Miller, and brother Charles Miller, both of Kansas City, MO along with a host of other uncles, aunts, step grandchildren. A special niece Tracie. Well loved family friend Ashley and many other relatives and friends. The homegoing service for Sidney will be held Saturday, July 27th, at 1:00pm at the Church of Christ, 305 E. Gentry, Checotah with Pastor Al Dearmore, officiating. He will be laid to rest in Robinson Family Cemetery. Visitation hours are today from 1:00pm until 6:00pm. Services are under the direction of Ragsdale Funeral Center.
