Jack L. Hickey

1934 – 2013

Jack Lewis Hickey, 79, passed this life to greater life on November 18, 2013 in Sacramento, California.

He was born on July 24, 1934 to Jude and Susie Hickey in Muskogee, Oklahoma where Jack grew up and attended Sally Brown School, Alice Robertson Jr. High School and Central High School.  In 1956, Jack joined the U.S. Army and served full service.

Jack was saved as a young man and served the Lord all the days of his life.  He loved music and learned to play the guitar by ear.  Later, he took banjo and piano lessons and played the harmonica.  Jack loved his family dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jude and Susie Hickey; his wife, Mary; one brother, Bill Hickey; one sister, Laura Pyles and one son, Kelley Hickey.

Jack is lovingly survived by his daughter, Karen Lewis and husband, Eric; one son, Jackie Hickey and wife, Michellene; daughter-in-law, Brandi Hickey; grandchildren, Sabrina, Cory, Ryan, Mathew, Brandon, Jacklyn and Harrison; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Bonnie Hickey and Mack and Helen Hickey and sisters, Ruth Allen and Kathy Smith and husband, Meredieth.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Community Church southeast of Muskogee with Pastor Steven Alexander officiating.  Interment will follow in Brushy Mountain Cemetery.
