Betty Mae Chancey Warren was born November 18, 1929 in Bixby, OK the daughter of Charles Opal and Elizabeth “Elsie” Pregler Chancey. Betty completed this life on December 3, 2013, in Warner, OK at the age of 84. On February 19, 1949, Betty and Murl James Warren of Broken Arrow were united in marriage. The couple lived their entire married life and raised their family in Oklahoma. Together, they were proprietors of Leonard Grocery for several years, followed by 10 years of dairy farming at Inola and 40 years of beef cattle farming at Warner. Betty also enjoyed working outside the home and farm as a bookkeeper for banks and auto dealerships in Tulsa, Muskogee and Eufaula.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Murl, a son Charles Oran “Sonny” Warren, and a sister Doris Jean Chancey Hale.
Betty is survived by four children: Shirley Palmer and husband Ted of Edmond, Penny Coppin and husband Phill of Muskogee, Jean Ann Parsley and husband Jim of Sallisaw, Tony Warren and wife Janice of Warner, a sister Helen Frances Chancey Henderson and husband Don of Bixby, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Warner and the Naomi Sunday School Class.
