Jackie N. McFarland

1937 - 2013

Funeral services for Jackie N. McFarland, 76, of Gore, OK, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Masena Holiness Church in Tahlequah, OK, with Reverend Dwayne Hardbarger officiating. Pallbearers will be Allen Wiley, John Hougland, Troy Chisum, Garland Russell, John Ross, and Ed Sartin. Burial will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Fort Gibson.

Jackie was born January 27, 1937 at Gassville, AR, the son of Fred and Margarite (Barnett) McFarland and died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Muskogee. At the age of 17, Jackie joined the U. S. Army and served his country. On January 31, 1957, shortly after leaving the service, he married Edna Dotson in Exeter, CA. He was a carpenter and farmer, and had lived in the area for the past 46 years.

Survivors include his wife, Edna, of the home; four sons, Tommy McFarland and Cindy of Denair, CA, Ronnie McFarland of Purcell, OK, Freddy McFarland of Fort Smith, AR, Larry McFarland and Annette of Webbers Falls; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry McFarland and Kathy of Ozark, MO, Joe McFarland and Nikki of Gainsville, MO; sister, Barbara Skiver and Gary of Cotter, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bill Pitchford and Bob McFarland.
