Catherine Frances "Kitty" (Clements) Brown was born in Brentwood, NH on April 21, 1946 to the late Chester H. Clements and Catherine F. (Morse) Clements. She was raised in Kingston, NH and graduated from Sanborn Seminary. She lived on Plum Island, MA for many years. While living on Plum Island she was a columnist and was photographer for the local newspaper as well as a school bus driver for many years. Her famous words, "Not on the Bus!" were frequently heard by the students. She was also extremely active and passionate in the development of Plum Island as its own town and fought for its rights in the early 1980's.
In 1985 she relocated to Porum, Oklahoma with her family. She began working in retail management from which she retired in 2008. Eventually she made a life and a home with her long time companion, David Archibald and his son, Nick Archibald in Fort Gibson, OK. Kitty and David went back to the east coast each year to visit friends, family, the ocean, and to enjoy eating her favorite dish, fresh fried clams!
Miss Kitty never met a stranger. Everyone who met her instantly loved her. She overcame so much adversity in her life, but never indulged in self pity. She was the definition of positive thinking and strength! She took great pride in giving friends, family, customers at work, and sometimes strangers a hard time. Her favorite saying was “Do you want that to go?”
Kitty passed away on February 17, 2013 at her home in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma after a battle with cancer.
She is survived by her children: Sherry Kenyon and husband Kevin of New Market, NH, Tracy Blair and husband Jim of Muskogee, OK, Heather Hughart and husband Boone of Muskogee, OK; one step daughter Lynn Brown of Salem, NH.; 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild; two sisters, Gail Ramsey of Kingston, NH and husband David, Jennie Gilman and husband Jack of Brentwood, NH; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
