Bettie Louise Christian


Bettie Louise Christian was born December 9, 1930 in Bay Minette, Alabama to Leonard and Lucille (Nash) Christian.   She married Edward Sallings on July 13, 1946 and was widowed on July 12, 1962, leaving her with four children under the age of five.  She married Donald Blair January 22, 1964.  Together, they raised seven children.  She retired from Western Hills Guest Ranch after more than twenty-five years of service.  She was a member of the Rebekah’s Lodge, and the Wagoner Community Hospital Auxiliary.  She leaves behind her children, Robin Luellen and the late Jerry Luellen of Hulbert, Connie Swindler and husband Scott of Hulbert, Edwina Rice of Okay, Edward “Chris” Sallings and wife Carla of Okay, Donald “Eugene” Blair and wife Shanna of Wagoner, Rebekah Perkins and husband Bill of Hulbert, Michael Blair and wife Johnna Sue of Wagoner and honorary son, Richard Keck and wife Kathy of Porter.  She had seventeen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, L. D. Christian and Eugene Christian and sister, Ruby Jean Young; husbands, Edward Sallings and Donald Blair; son-in-law, Jerry Luellen and great grandchildren, Isaiah Alexander, C. J. Alexander and Lauren Price.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 15, 2014 in the Immanuel Baptist Church with the Reverend Earl Cobb officiating.  Cremation and arrangeamnts are under the direction of Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home.
