Olen Tom Ladd

1918 – 2013

Olen Tom Ladd, 95, of Muskogee, died Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Eastar Health System.  He was born March 19, 1918 in Booneville, Arkansas to Robert and Jessie Pearl Ladd.

He worked on the farm to help the family when he was a kid. At a young age, Tom started Ladd Trucking Co., which he owned and operated for almost 60 years. Tom never set idle, when the truck was in he cleaned and polished it before he went out again.

Tom was a loving father and grandfather to his grandchildren who called him “Poppa Tom.”

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Ladd; grandson, Robert Thomas Ladd and two brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his son, Mike Ladd of Muskogee; two daughters-in-law, Sandra Ladd and Nita Ladd of Muskogee; two brothers, Bob Ladd and his wife, Doyce, and Homer Ladd all of Placerville, CA; six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Fosters’ Ivory Chapel with Pastor Kelly Payne officiating.

Interment will follow in Greenhill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom’s grandsons, John Ladd, Robert Ladd, Mike Ladd, John White, John Michael White and Colby White.
