Suzan Carrol Lombardi

Suzan Carrol Lombardi was born April 27, 1955 in Muskogee, OK to Carrol and Leona (Lewis) Ratliff.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Leona this past June.  She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Daniel Lombardi, their two daughters Machalla Holas of Swansea, IL and Carrolyn (Niki) Beck of Callahan, FL, two sisters Teresa Ratliff of Yukon, OK and Jeanne Lujan (Ratliff) of Louisville, KY, and five grandchildren, Rodney, Isabelle, Calob, Ryan and Baby Beck due in August.

Suzan and Dan were High School sweethearts and have been a couple since they were both 17 years old living in Littleton, CO.  After Dan entered the U.S. Air Force in 1977, Suzan and Dan traveled the world spending nine years in Europe.  Suzan was a skilled dental assistant and dental office manager working for dentists around the country as she and Dan moved with the Air Force.  Suzan also worked for two dentists here in OKC after she and Dan were stationed at Tinker, their final assignment, in 2003.  Suzan's final employment was as an office assistant for the Chancellor at the Catholic Pastoral Center, Archdiocese of Oklahoma City.  Suzan was the quintessential mother that loved her daughters more than life.  Everything she did, to include her myriad of dental positions, was to support her daughters, pay for their parochial school, helped defer wedding costs, or chip in for family vacations.  Family was her main focus and it showed in her consummate love for her daughters, grandchildren, sisters and in-laws.  She even mothered the youth at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon.  Her meals each Sunday night for the teens in TYME Youth Ministry were always scrumptious.  Suzan made friends very easy with her inviting personality; best stated by her dear friend…"When Suzan becomes someone's friend, she doesn't just find a place in their heart, she makes it a home! Her nurturing and caring way, makes all her friends feel warm and loved. I'm blessed to call Suzan my friend."  Suzan's battle with brain cancer ended January 20, 2014, surrounded by friends and family at the Integris Hospice House and will be dearly missed.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 9AM-8PM and Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 9AM to 4PM at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, 1500 W. Vandament, Yukon, OK.  A Wake Service and Rosary will be held on Thursday, Jan 23, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Jan 24, 2014 at 10 a.m., both liturgies will be held at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 600 Garth Brooks Blvd., Yukon, OK.  Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Sister Barbara Joseph's Pantry (BJ's) that feeds the homeless in OKC.

Please make on-line donations at or you can send them to Sr. BJ Pantry, 1300 Classen Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73103.  Online condolences may be signed at

Arrangements are under the direction of Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, OK.
