Wilma Catherine Cannon Hill

1922 - 2014

Wilma Catherine Cannon Hill passed away July 12, 2014 at her home in Muskogee, OK.

She was born January 3, 1922 in Muskogee, OK. She was preceded in death by her mother Alice Izora Adams Lyle and sisters; Doris Jean Alldridge Iannon and Effie Deloris Alldridge Ball.

Wilma graduated from Muskogee Central High School and attended Draughn’s Business School. Wilma married the love of her life, James Edward Hill March 19, 1949 in McAlister, OK. Wilma’s lifelong career was in the Civil Service, government, beginning in the 1940’s during WWII. Wilma worked in Washington D.C., Camp Gruber in Braggs, OK, and retired from the Veterans Administration Regional Office in Muskogee, OK.

Wilma is survived by her husband of marriage for the past 65 years, James Edward Hill; two daughters, Janice Hill and Jamie Hill Ritchie and husband Cliff Ritchie, and grandsons Gabe Hill and Ed Hill, their spouses and three great-grandchildren.

Wilma was a lovely devoted daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Wilma and Jim enjoyed retirement with motor home travel. Her favorite hobby was reading everything from educational to entertainment materials. Memorials may be made to one’s charity of choice.

Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Muskogee, OK. The family will receive friends at the Bradley Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014.

The family would like to thank Dr. David Lester and his staff for 40 years of wonderful health care, Hometown Hospice for excellent care in every way, Jim and Cora Blackburn, Carl and Tracy Cox for their beautiful friendships and assistance over the years. The family offers a special thank-you to Karen Kirk Taylor for her wonderful friendship and health care support for our whole family.
