Alice Jackson

1926 - 2014

Services for Alice Louise Jackson will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Broken Arrow Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.

Alice would tell you she lived a simple life as a wife, mother, teacher and good and faithful servant. But those who knew her would tell you she lived an extraordinary life, setting an example every day in simple, yet significant ways. Alice was born May 5, 1926, to Tom and Lillie Brown of Braggs. Alice died Friday, July 11, 2014, at the age of 88 at Clarehouse in Tulsa. Alice married Edward Jackson on Nov. 6, 1943, in Muskogee. Edward died on Jan. 14, 2008, with his wife of 64 years by his side. Alice graduated high school in Rolla, Kansas and went on to attend Central State University, earning her teaching degree in 1962. She retired from Broken Arrow Public Schools in 1985. She is survived by 3 children, Edwina Lyle and husband, Glen, Tulsa, Peggy King and husband, Jim, Cabot, AR, and Eddie Jackson and wife, Gena, Columbus, OH; 7 grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren and 2 more on the way.
