James George Aston

1943 - 2012

— James George Aston, 69, of Keefeton, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012. He was born on September 21, 1943 to Thomas Poston Aston and Bessie Odessa Aston - Cothren in Lawton, Oklahoma. He graduated from Geronimo High School in 1962 and continued on to the Technical School of Okmulgee. He was on the Board of Directors at the Keefeton Volunteer Fire Department and an active member of Keefeton Free Will Baptist Church. James was the owner of C and A Truck Repair for 15 years. He spent the majority of his life as a Diesel Mechanical/Service Manager.

James and his wife just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 23, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

James is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Aston; two children, Jay Aston and wife Brenda of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Shelly Reaves and husband Shawn of Springdale, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Justin Barnes and wife Ashley of Iowa, Cody Aston and wife Tara of Iowa, Rebekah Aston and husband Kyle Roudabush of Iowa, Rachel Reaves of Springdale, Arkansas, and Emily Reaves of Springdale, Arkansas; one great grandchild, Kimber Barnes; two “adopted” grandchildren, Katlyn Hiatt and Shelby Hiatt; one sister, Nancy Gamblin and husband Clifford of Lawton, Oklahoma; two brothers, Tommy Aston and wife Phyllis of Geronimo, Oklahoma, and Donald Aston and wife Avis of Marlow, Oklahoma; one step-brother, Harold Wayne Cothren and wife Lee of Tennessee.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Keefeton Free Will Baptist Church with Ministers Cardell Coppin and Danny Barks officiating. Burial will follow at the Agnew Cemetery in Keefeton. Pallbearers will be Michael Schlachtun, Mike Newton, Spec Plunkett, Chris Creason, David Barks, and Billy Hiatt. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Pumprey, Eugene Smithson and Kenneth Childers.

Services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the family at
