Oster A. (Trois) Woolridge lll


Oster A. (Trois) Woolridge III the son of Ruby Woolridge and O.A. Woolridge II passed away on April 30, 2014. He had one brother Cornell Woolridge and a step-brother Marcus Johnson. Oster was born in Muskogee Oklahoma on April 20, 1967.  He attended schools in Muskogee, OK, Guthrie, OK, Oklahoma City, OK and Arlington Texas.  He graduated from Arlington's Lamar High School in 1985. He was active in the choir, football, basketball and theatre. Oster joined Grace United Methodist Church, Arlington, TX in 1984.

After High School, Oster attended the University of Oklahoma majoring in computer engineering before enlisting in the United States Army.  He performed a variety of duties and served in Panama, South Korea and Saudi, Arabia as an airborne Ranger.  Oster was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1991.  He obtained the rank of Sergeant prior to his medical retirement.

After the military, Oster was an Air Traffic Controller for the Western Pacific region. He was also an Aircraft Dispatcher for Raytheon Aeronautics in Wichita Kansas.

Oster lived in Ft. Worth Texas at the time of his death.  

They had two children.  Jourdan Alexander passed away in 1994 from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Pearline Wallace, plus a host of relatives and friends.

Services will be held at The Potter's House of Dallas, 6777 West Kiest Boulevard, on May 17, 2014 at 11am.  Bishop TD Jakes Sr. Pastor.

The family is requesting that donations be made in honor of Oster A Woolridge III to the Disabled Veterans of America or the Woolridge Family Fund  PO Box 121026 Arlington Texas 76012. The Potters House will receive flowers or plants on May 16, 2014 and May 17, 2014 until 10:00 am. We would like to use donations made to the Woolridge Family fund to start a foundation to assist disabled Veterans.
