Anita Fay Schoenhals

1933 - 2014

Anita Fay Schoenhals, 80, of Muskogee, Oklahoma died Friday, January 17, 2014 at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born June 22, 1933 at Newman Memorial Hospital to George Clarence Truitt and Edith Shelton Truitt. She was raised in Bishop Community until age 12. She then moved to the farm 2 miles southwest of Arnett, Oklahoma. She attended School at Bishop and Arnett.

She married Johnnie L. Bogey on March 4, 1950. Then on October 4, 1950 she moved to Shattuck, Oklahoma where Terry Lewis Bogey was born December 26, 1950. Then on October 5, 1952 Janet Ann was born. She moved to Waynoka, Oklahoma in 1954. On January 6, 1955 Marilyn Jean was born, then on November 8, 1957 Carolyn Marie was born. Her family moved to Clovis, New Mexico in August 1958. She lived in New Mexico until 1970 when she moved to Portales, New Mexico, and then back to Arnett, Oklahoma in December 1975. She worked for Farm Bureau Insurance Company until 1981. She then went to work at Newman Medical Center in Shattuck, Oklahoma. She retired and married Norman Schoenhals on December 9, 1982. She made her home in Shattuck until 2003 because of illness of both Anita and Norman and moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma and then permanently in 2005.

Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Schoenhals, her parents, one daughter; Janet Flowers, one brother; Richard Truitt, one sister; Georgia Yauck.

Anita was a member of the Baptist Church since 1958, where she attended Training Union, and she was a teacher with young people in the Baptist Church in both Oklahoma and New Mexico, she was president of WMU and also worked with mission youth in New Mexico. Most recently she was a member of Central Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Her education included; Bishop Grade School, Arnett High School, and attended college at ENMU, in New Mexico. She enjoyed attending church, sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She painted with acrylics, enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, and was an avid reader. Her greatest joy was spending quality time with her family and friends, especially time with her grandchildren.

Anita is survived by; her son; Terry Bogey and his wife Flora, of California, two daughters; Marilyn McCoy and her husband Carl, of New Mexico, Carolyn Clewell and her husband Allen, of Oklahoma, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and extended family.

Visitation will be: Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Central Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Funeral service will follow after the visitation at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at DeBolt Cemetery in Arnett, Oklahoma.
