Margie Marie Blan


Margie Marie (Mullins) Blan, retired, of Haskell passed from this life to join her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 2, 2014, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 81.

She was born in Boynton, OK, on February 1, 1933, to George Edward and Mary Emma (Jordan) Mullins and attended school in Woodall, OK.  On November 4, 1960, she married Robert Ray Blan in Haskell.  Together, they enjoyed over 53 years of marriage.

Margie was a passionate and dedicated Christian and attended the Haskell First Assembly of God.  Her life revolved around her family and she loved to pray, cook, sew, and sing with her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, their three sons, Stanley and Leah Blan of Haskell, Stephen and Debra Blan of Ponca City, Mark and Karen Blan of Haskell, and one daughter, Martha Blan of Haskell.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sabrina (Blan) Bennett, Stoney Blan, Brittney Blan, Bethany Blan, Chloe Blan, Kameryn Blan, and “R.W.” Blan, and five great-grandchildren, Kaleb Bennett, Kaden Bennett, “SJ” Blan, McKinleigh Blan, and Ryker Blan.  Margie is survived by one sister, Veda and Ralph Turnipseed of Lindale, TX. as well as several nieces , nephews and other relatives and friends.  

Margie was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at  Dowdy  Funeral Home in Haskell.  Services will commence at 1 p.m., Thursday, February 6, at Haskell First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Donald Hogue, Jr., officiating.  Interment will follow in the Haskell Cemetery under the direction of Dowdy Funeral Home.
