1926 - 2014


— Alex Dill, Jr. joined his beloved wife, Edith, in their heavenly home above on February 6, 2014. He was born on May 23, 1926, in Jenks, Oklahoma, to William Alexander Dill and Sarah Elsie Cummins Dill. He married Edith Ritter Dill on December 25, 1957, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Alex was a farmer/rancher from a very young age throughout the remainder of his life. In 1944 he joined the Army Infantry Division and was stationed in Germany during World War II. He spent many years working for Love Bottling from driving a delivery truck to being a plant crew supervisor. He was also a custodian for Warner Public Schools during the 1970’s. All who were acquainted with Alex knew that he took lots of pride in everything he did especially with his cattle and garden. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of Elm Grove Assembly of God. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Alexander and Elsie Dill, his wife, Edith Dill, a son, Larry Adams, brothers, Walter Dill and Ben Dill, sisters, May Boston, Audrey McDonald, Lois Sisson Bayless and Roxie Nipps. He is survived by his brothers, Leo Dill and Henry Carl Dill; sister, Jackie Rodden; children, Glenn Adams and wife, Connie, John “Bud” Dill, Duane Adams, Sheryl Bryant, Peggy Cox and husband, George, Susan Jackson, Amy Corley and Penny Williams and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Diana Callaghan, Amanda Andrews, Miranda Lyons, Samantha Colvin, Jeremy Taylor, Halston Williams, Tecara Corley, Tia Corley and Tanna Corley; great grandchildren, Shane Pennington and Raylee Wiedel, along with many other beloved ones.

Special thanks to the staff at Eastgate Village and Hometown Hospice for their compassionate and loving care given to Alex during his battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Elm Grove Assembly of God with Pastor Clyde Powell officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.
