Lois Virginia Craig

1931-2014

Lois Virginia Craig, 82, of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered heavens gates Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was born March 3, 1931 in Tahlequah to Andrew Fritts and Jane Hicks Fritts. Lois graduated from Bagley High School with the class of 1949. She coached girls softball along with being an official score keeper of her boy's little league baseball teams. Lois worked at Muskogee Public School as the cook and cafeteria manager. She then worked at Commercial Bank for 13 years. She then returned to Muskogee Public School from which she retired in 1992.

In May of 1949, Lois married love of her life, Kenneth Craig. They shared over 64 wonderful years together. Lois enjoyed nothing more than making a home for their family. She was an excellent seamstress and an even better cook and baker.

On April 12, 1953, Lois and Kenneth became active and faithful members of Eastern Heights Baptist Church. Lois loved serving the Lord and happily volunteered for many years working in the nursery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastern Heights Baptist Church for the “Kids Backpack Program.”

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Helen Hill; her brother, Billy Fritts; her step-brothers, Perry Fritts and Dewayne Fritts; and her step-sister, Clara Fritts.

She is survived by her spouse, Kenneth Craig; her sons, Ronnie Craig and wife, Susan of Colorado Springs, CO, Dale Craig and wife, Nancy of Muskogee; her grandchildren, Dana of North Pole, AK., Shannon of Fort Gibson, OK., Jeff of Colorado Springs, CO, Jennifer of Fort Gibson, OK, Kerrie of Arlington, WA, and Christina of Colorado Springs, CO; eleven great grandchildren; and her first great-great grandchild due next month; her brother, Bob Fritts; her half-brother, L.C. Fritts, both of Tahlequah; and many nieces, nephews; and numerous other family members; and her special friends, Flora Murphy, Bonnie Tedford, Marcia Tingel, and the members of the “Joy” Class of Eastern Heights Baptist Church.

Funeral services celebrating Lois's life will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 24, 2014 at Eastern Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Mann officiating. Interment will follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery with her nephews, George Hill, Denny Fritts, Larry Hill, Bob Craig, Mark Hill, and Brad Craig serving as pallbearers.
