Billy “Terry” Kizzia, 63, of Braggs, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Terry was born to Bea and Billy Kizzia in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He grew up in Braggs and graduated from Braggs Public Schools in 1968. Terry was the first all-state baseball player chosen from Braggs and led the Wildcats to their first state championship. He loved baseball and continued to play at Okmulgee Tech and was invited to try out for the St. Louis Cardinals. Instead, he chose to marry his wife of 44 years and raise their six children.
Terry loved to fish and hunt, piddle in his garage, and spend time with his family and Gunsmoke. He was a member of the Jesus Name Church of Braggs and left his world knowing he was headed for a better place.
Terry put the “fun” in anything he did and his loving light touch will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry and Ronnie; one sister, Debbie Haworth; and a granddaughter, Mason Jaye Kizzia.
Terry is survived by his wife, Sheila of the home; one daughter, Trenda Mackey and husband, Wes; five sons, Dean Kizzia, Jamie Kizzia and wife, Rachelle, all of Braggs, Tucker Kizzia and wife, Junie of Warner, OK, Michael Kizzia, Garrett Kizzia, also of Braggs; nine grandchildren, Chelsea, Morgan, Payton, Parker, Aaron, Corey, Austin, Kutter, and Rian; one sister, Jackie Curtis; two brothers, Rick Kizzia and Boone Kizzia, all of Braggs; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members; and lastly, one very special lifelong friend, Ronnie Garrison.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Terry will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Braggs High School gymnasium with Pastor Richard Nuckolls and Rev. Bubby Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs with his sons, Dean Kizzia, Jamie Kizzia, Tucker Kizzia, Michael Kizzia, Garrett Kizzia, and Rodney Kizzia serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Payton York, Parker York, Austin Kizzia, Kutter Kizzia, Rockie Kizzia, Dan’l Kizzia, Aaron York, and Corey York.
