James Brian Milne, “Superman”, age 39, passed from this life into God’s care on Thursday, June 13, 2013. He was born June 18, 1973 in Lumberton, North Carolina. James was the son of Kirby A. Milne of the Muskogee/Oktaha area. He grew up in the Oktaha area where he attended school and graduated from Oktaha High School with the class of ’92. James was employed at Dal Tile as a glaze line operator during the C shift and worked other shifts areas within the plant. In February 2013, he received recognition for 5 years of work at Dal Tile.
James married the love of his life, Andrea Karnes on November 11, 2011, although they were together for 10 years.
He liked music, movies, classic cars, Superman, and most of all, his family and friends. James had a big heart and he would go out of his way to make a stranger smile. James was known as “Superman” to a lot of people, but he was the “Super Hero” to his family. He cared about his mother-in-law, Peggy Karnes, like his own.
James was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wendell and Marguerite Milne.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea; his children, Raven and Braxton, all of the home, Dallas Milne of Texas; his mother, Kirby Milne; his sisters, Dessa Alverson, Chrissy Lewis, and Amy Pipkins; his brother, Bobby Milne; his brother-in-law, Adam Karnes and wife, Penny; sister-in-law, Nettie Karnes; a very special uncle, Wendell H. Milne and wife, Vikki; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends.
James was a devoted father, husband, brother, and son. His passing leaves a hurt in the hearts of the people who loved him. He will be greatly missed.
He was also an organ donor, wanting others to have the chance for a better life.
Funeral services celebrating the life of James will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Timothy Baptist Church with Rev. Kelly Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson with Alton Williams, D. Boots, Donny Moses, Doyle Rowland, Gary Larson, Greg Northcutt, Kenny Bookless, Kirt Stickelmeyer, Mike Cole, and Trea Milne serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Braxton Milne, Wendell Milne Jr., and Jerry Lane Jr.
Services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
