LaVina Jo Climer, 78, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 in Muskogee with her family by her side. She was born September 23, 1935 in Muskogee to Jeff Kilpatrick and Frances Bolding Kilpatrick. Jo grew up in Keefeton and attended school at Keefeton and Warner. She graduated from Warner High School in 1953. Jo attended Draughons Business College from which she received her business degree. She worked as the Deputy Bookkeeper for Muskogee Courthouse from which she retired in 2002 after 20 years of service.

Jo was a member of Hillcrest Christian Fellowship Church. Her faith was very important to her. Jo was devoted to her grandchildren. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Frances Kilpatrick; siblings, Howard Kilpatrick, Kewpie Wilson, and Nola McDaniel.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Climer of Okay, OK; her brothers, Jeff Kilpatrick of Checotah, OK, Jim Kilpatrick of Muskogee, OK, and Bill Kilpatrick of Sapulpa; her sisters, Sue Maynard of Hartford, CT, Jenny Louise Morgan, Joyce Scott, both of Muskogee, OK, Judy Rector of Webbers Falls, OK, Jane Price of Keefeton, OK, and Mary Love of Little Rock, AR; her grandchildren, Jessica Ford and husband, J.R., Rebecca White and husband, Nick, Myriah Lowrey and fiancée, Derrion Johnson; her great grandchildren, Austyn Haley Stills, Tony Ford, Stormy Dawn Ford, Jacob Hawkins, Chloe Hawkins, and Jeramiah Johnson; and the father of her daughter, Charlie Climer; many other nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Funeral services celebrating Jo’s life will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Danny Barks officiating. Interment will follow at Agnew Cemetery with her nephews, Jeffery McDaniel, Reggie Scott, Kevin Kilpatrick, Kelly Kilpatrick, Rocky Rector, and Curt Price serving as pallbearers.

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made to the family online at
