John Calvin Havron

1925 - 2013

John Calvin Havron, 87, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away, Monday, June 24, 2013 in Tahlequah.  He was born October 11, 1925 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Jess Hamilton Havron and Edna Pollan Havron.  John grew up in Altus where he attended school.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII, later receiving an honorable discharge.  In the early part of his career, he worked in the construction field building bridges.  

John liked to fish and play the guitar.  He was an avid reader and especially loved reading his Bible.  John was a member of the Azalea Church of Christ in Muskogee.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Verla McBride and Faye Blackburn; his brothers, Leonard Havron and Delmar Havron.

He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Havron of Muskogee; his best friend and mother of his daughter, Catherine Havron of  Muskogee; his step son, Lee Bewley of Dardanelle, AR.; his brother, Joe Havron and wife, Helen of Fritch, TX.; nieces, nephews, and other family members.

John’s family will receive friends and visitors from 5-7 p.m., Thursday,                  June 27, 2013 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.

Graveside services for John will be Friday, June 28, 2013 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Mr. James McCracken officiating.  Full Military Honors will be presented.

Services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made to the family at www.cornerstoneofmuskogee.com
