Betty Jo Dockery Holman

1927 - 2012

— Betty Jo Dockery Holman, 85 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed this life December 6, 2012, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was born August 7, 1927, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the daughter of Dolly “Ella” Palmer and James Dockery. She married Hubert Holman April 8, 1948. She was the co-founder and owner of Wild Horse Mtn. Bar-B-Que and long-time devoted member and prayer warrior of the Sallisaw Church of the Nazarene. She was a homemaker and also served as a Cub Scout Leader while living in California.

Survivors are 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Sandy Holman, Eddy Holman, and Bill and Georgetta Holman; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Cathi and Ted Fine; 1 brother, Robbie Raney, all of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren, Jeff Holman, Kelly Little, Jerrad Holman, Chris Holman, Wes Holman, Jeremy Holman, Josh Holman, Sarah Holman, Tyler Fine and Anna Fine, Jackie Ollie, Tyler Lovell, and Clinton Lovell; 15 great grandchildren, Aubrey Little, Delaney Little, Finley Little, Crislyn Holman, Trinity Holman, Riley “Boone” Holman, Matthew Holman, Morgan Holman, Garrett Holman, Ethan Holman, Jace Holman, Jax Holman, Kenadee Lovell, Olivia Lovell, and Kasen Ollie. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 brothers, Bill Cheek and Walter Raney.

Pallbearers will be Chris Holman, Wes Holman, Jeremy Holman, Josh Holman, Tyler Lovell, and Clinton Lovell. Honorary Pallbearers are Jeff Holman, Jerrad Holman and Tyler Fine.

Services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 10, 2012 at Sallisaw Church of the Nazarene, with Reverend Tommy Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Viewing will be Noon to 8:00 P.M. Saturday and Sunday at the Funeral Home.
