Marjorie Louise Fletcher

Marjorie Louise Fletcher, 85, retired secretary, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014. She moved to Muskogee five years ago from Marion, Iowa. She married her long time friend and companion. Marjorie is survived by her husband, Jack A. Fletcher; other family members, Cheryl and Randy Moses, Renee and Jesse Clark, Joni and Randy Moses II; her great grandchildren, Avery, Rylin, Maegan, Brayden, and Trevor; her special friends, Anna and Janet, Peggy and Harold Willard, Randy and Lisa Mullen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Helen First.

Marjorie enjoyed visiting with all her friends at Anna’s Restaurant, Creek Nation Casino, and the Nutrition Center.

Marjorie was a Christian woman who loved cats and birds. Her favorite cat was Cuddles. One thing she wanted her friends and family to understand is why she fed and cared for so many cats, kittens, and birds. When she was a child, she knew what it was like to be hungry and thirsty and she didn't want them to go without. Marjorie always managed to help them survive. They brought her much joy. Neighbors would bring lost kittens to her because they knew she would love and take care of them.

Marjorie wanted you to remember her as your friend, her funny spirit, and a unique person who cared.

In honoring Marjorie's wish, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Coins for Critters, P. O. Box 143, Muskogee, OK 74402-0143 or online at; or PAWS, 4321 E. Hayes St., Muskogee OK  74401 or online at; or an animal shelter you prefer.

To celebrate her life, her family and friends will meet for a private memorial service on Wednesday, March 12, 2014.

To honor her, she will be laid to rest at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 N. York St., Muskogee, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made to the family online at
