Misty G. Lauderdale

1965 - 2012

Misty G. Lauderdale, 47, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012.  She was born March 28, 1965 in Mesquite, Texas to Gary Steward and Charlene Dupree Barnett.  Misty attended Muskogee High School from which she graduated.  She later attended the University of Phoenix.  Misty loved country music, dancing and sports cars.  She worked as a Corrections Sergeant at the Oklahoma Department of Corrections from which she retired after ten years of service.  

Misty was preceded in death by her step-father, Earnie Marlow; her grandparents, Walter and Martha Dupree; her uncles, Marvin Whitehead, Donald Dupree, and her aunt, Ann Dupree.

She is survived by her husband, John W. Lauderdale; her sons, Ian M. Lauderdale, Justin Kucera and wife Nicole; daughter, Whitney Kucera and husband Brian; her mother, Charlene Barnett; brothers, Joseph Marlowe and wife Trish, Michael Marlowe; her stepchildren, Brandii Graham and husband Michael, John N. Lauderdale, Erica Ford and husband Brian, Drew Lauderdale and wife Massami, Alex Lauderdale; her uncles and aunts, Bill Dupree, Ken Dupree and wife Peggy, Doris Whitehead, Bo Dupree and wife Gaynel, Joe Dupree and wife Margie; her mother in law, Jessie Lauderdale; and many other special family members including nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1830 N. York St., Muskogee, OK.

A memorial service honoring Misty will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop Guy Grooms presiding and conducting.  

Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Simmons, Gary Bentley, Bob Gardner, Mike McKinney, Tank Winkler, Randy Whaum, Billy Calvert, W. T. Reece, and Toby Brantley.

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, OK.  Condolences may be sent to the family at
