James C. Parker, 67, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born January 31, 1946 to Beulah (Brown) Parker in Tulsa, OK. He spent most summers in the Cooksin Hills learning to hunt and fish from his grandfather, Thurman Brown. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard where he proudly served in Ludington, MI during the Vietnam era, and achieved the rank of Second Class Boatswain's Mate. After being honorably discharged from service, he went on to Xray Tech school where he met and married Patricia (Patti) O'Kelley. In 1978, they moved to Muskogee, OK and Jim worked for Muskogee Regional Medical Center until retirement. James loved the outdoors, especially, hunting, fishing and golfing. He also loved spending time with his family and enjoyed having his children and grandchildren with him.
James is survived by his wife, Patti; daughter, Holly Hubbell and husband Kyle of Owasso; son, Jay T. Parker and wife Laura of Muskogee; grandchildren, Reagan O’Kelley Hubbell, Parker James Hubbell and Ruby Pearl Parker; cousin, Bobby Allen and wife Dee of Owasso; and aunt, Sylvia Wilcox and husband Richard of Nebraska. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Thurman Brown; and mother, Beulah Parker.
A service celebrating the life of James C. Parker will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2013 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Reverend Bobby Allen officiating.
