Patty June Myers

1950 - 2013

— Patty June was welcomed with open arms on July 16, 1950 to her parents Garvin Albert “Dude” Taylor and Lizzy Leora (Foster) in Haskell, Oklahoma.

Patty moved to Muskogee after working many years as a dietary manager at the Haskell Manor Nursing Home. She had a true passion and love for cooking for other people. Patty enjoyed being silly and pulling funny pranks on people when they were not looking or expecting them. Every year she would take a trip to Las Vegas with a group of close friends. When Patty wasn’t working or pulling pranks on someone she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and talking to her circle of chat friends and pen pals. But most of all, if Patty was here today telling us what she indeed enjoyed the most in life, it would be her family. She lived a life like everyone else with ups and downs but most of all she lived a life in which she felt was meant for her to live. It was filled with love, joy, happiness and on occasion’s tears and pain.

Patty fought a courageous battle of pancreatic cancer that she completed the best way that she could. Early in the morning on March 27, 2013 at the age of 62, God took away all of her tears and pain when she was reunited with her parents and sisters in Heaven.

She leaves to cherish and carry on her legacy three daughter, Rexann Ragland and her husband Earnie of Andalusia, Al, Heather Wilson and her special friend Pamela Morris of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Angela Myers of Haskell, Oklahoma. Two sisters Carol Thompson and her husband Jim, Deorma Wells and her husband Bill all of Haskell, Oklahoma. Eight grandchildren, Matthew and his fiancé Holly, Jordan and wife Hailey, Jared, Wyatt, Andrea, Chase, Karen, Cheyanne and one very special grand dog Chewie.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Patty Myers will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 at the Haskell Community Center. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that all donations be made to the Hope Hospice Foundation at (

Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Muskogee Cremation & Funeral Service.
