1929 - 2013

— Richard Edward Smith Jr., 83, of Webbers Falls, OK, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013. Richard “Bird” was born May 18, 1929 to Richard and Corrine Smith in Webbers Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Colleen Dye; and brother, James Smith. He is survived by brothers, Sanford Smith and wife, Linda, of Shell Knob, MO; Luther Smith and wife, Lilly, of Tahlequah, OK; sister-in-law, Emily Smith; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Richard loved going to church, singing gospel songs, and talking about the people he went to school with at Mt. Grove School.

Services for Richard will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Millsap Funeral Service Chapel in Webbers Falls with Reverend Kenneth Clay officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Smith, Todd Smith, Rodney “Bug” Smith, Charles Dye, and David Dye. Burial will be in Vaught Cemetery.

In memory of Richard, the family requests memorials to Hope Hospice or Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 204, Muskogee, OK, 74402.
