Flora Louise “Sissy” Crow

1949 - 2013

— Sissy Crow, age 63, died on Saturday, January 12th, 2013,  peacefully at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a long illness while surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was born in Vian, Oklahoma to Richard and Minnie (Young) Bassham on May 3rd, 1949. “Sissy” was a long time resident of Webbers Falls, Oklahoma where she lived most of her life.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and a true friend to those who knew her. “Sissy” worked for a number of years outside of the home as a home care provider but, she considered herself mostly as a homemaker. She was a wonderful cook and was known to family and friends as a Country Cook. Her recipes were unique and always delicious to eat. She enjoyed baking cakes for any occasion and especially for special events such as family birthdays and parties.  She was known for her surprising cake decorations and often used small toys as part of the finishing touch to a special birthday cake. Sissy enjoyed crocheting and a specialty of hers was crocheting blankets and hats to give as her gift to area hospitals for the newborn infants. Sissy was a wonderful woman with a kind and caring heart for others and she also enjoyed giving to others her time and friendship. She will always have a special place in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Richard Bassham, two brothers, Eddie Bassham and Archie Perryman. One sister, Nina Lee and three beautiful great-grandchildren, Lacy and Laney Sutterfield and Brayden Straut.

Sissy is survived by her loving husband, Alfred “Bo” Crow of the home in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma. Three daughters, Deann Young and husband Scott of Ripley, Oklahoma, Johnnie Sears and husband C.L. of Gore, Oklahoma and Micki Wright of Prue, Oklahoma. One brother, Billy Young and wife Carol of Mesa, Arizona. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of wonderful friends.

Memorial services for Sissy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Boulevard Christian Church located at 1700 West Shawnee St. in Muskogee, Oklahoma with Reverend Tony Blumenberg officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Muskogee Cremation & Funeral Service, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
