James Ray Ferguson

1953 - 2013

Funeral services for James Ray Ferguson will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, July 22, 2013, at Green Country Funeral Home. Officiating will be Reverend Perry Jamison. Pallbearers are TJ Rutherford, Justin Stephens, Adam Smith, Colton Hamby, Matt Murphy, and Charles Wisdom. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Stith, Charles Ferguson, Frank Corn, Mike Corn and Raymond Southerland.

Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at tahlequahfuneral.com.

James Ray Ferguson was born May 1, 1953 in Elkhart, Kansas. He passed away on July 6, 2013, at the age of 60.

James grew up in Wagoner, Oklahoma, and served time in the Marine Corp. He spent the majority of his life working as an over the road truck driver. For a number of years he worked at Sports Associated where he transported motorcycles cross country for bike shows. In his later years he worked for Twin Cities Ready Mix as lead mechanic.

James loved cooking big meals for his family, fishing, and getting on his motorcycle and taking long rides.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Letha Payne, and chosen parent, Jan Southerland.

He is survived by his wife, Raynetta; chosen father, Ray Southerland; children, Charles Ray Ferguson and wife Jennifer of Kokomo, IN, Chandra Lynn Stith and husband Jacob of Sims, IN, Charles Wisdom of Tahlequah, OK, Mandy Stephens and husband Gary of Park Hill, OK, Ben Carlisle and wife Allison also of Park Hill, OK; grandchildren, Brayden and Conner Stith, Cleo and Jacob Wisdom, Justin, Amber and Megan Stephens, and Katelynn, Ethan, Nathan and Peyton Carlisle; as well as many other extended family members, loved ones and friends.
