Readeece George

— Readeece Vannoy George was born September 15, 1922, in Knox City, TX.  She was welcomed into her heavenly home, Thursday, April 18, 2013.

Readeece grew up and was educated in West TX and there met her husband, Marvin George. They were blessed with two children, Ronnie and Brenda. They farmed near Stanton, TX, until 1964 when they moved to Vinita, OK, where they purchased a ranch south of Vinita. Readeece was an LPN and worked at Craig General Hospital for 20 years. She retired at age 62, but never gave up her calling and love for nursing. She and Marvin attended First Baptist Church of Vinita where she taught an adult ladies Sunday School class for many years. Her life was centered around her church and her family. She enjoyed her grandchildren and was very active in all their lives. They were all her pride and joy. Due to failing health they sold their ranch and moved to Muskogee in January 1998 to be near their son. Their health failed rapidly after the move and Readeece has lived at Magnolia Gardens for the past two years. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her, but never forgotten.

Readeece was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin George, of 64 years of marriage; her parents; and two sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Ronnie George and wife, Patty of Muskogee; daughter, Brenda Ardoin and husband, Warren of Baton Rouge, LA; 6 grandchildren, Angela and Chris Burge of Kankakee, IL, Kyle and Mary Ann George of Bedford, TX, Kelli and Greg Burns of Toledo, OH, Vicky and Sean Rekemeyer of Arlington, TX, Natalie and Lance Olsen of Mandeville, LA, and Josh George of Tulsa, OK. She was blessed with eleven loving great grandchildren; one brother Dewayne Vannoy of Midland, TX and many other relatives and friends from the West TX and Vinita areas.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the attentive staff at Magnolia Gardens for their loving care, and to the First Baptist church family and special friends.

Services will be held Monday, April 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., at the Bradley Belltower Chapel with Bill Crow officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.

The family has entrusted Bradley Family Funeral and Cremation Service with the arrangements. Friends may send condolences to the family at
