Richard Eugene Rhodes

1947-2013

Funeral services for Richard Rhodes, 66, of Tahlequah, OK, will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Millsap Funeral Service Chapel in Fort Gibson with Pastor Loren Welch officiating. Pallbearers will be Larry Purdon, Jim Pierce, Steve Hill, Dustin Rhodes, James Sipes, Jeremy Plunkett. Honorary Pallbearers are Joe Benge, Gale Sipes, Al Milton, Cody Craft and John Beaver.

Richard was born February 11, 1947 at Muskogee, OK, the son of Henry and Geraldine (Garner) Rhodes and died Friday, September 27, 2013 at his residence with his wife and family by his side.  On July 6, 2007, he married Angie Reed in Ft. Smith, AR.  Richard worked at Brockway Glass in Muskogee for 35 years as a forklift driver.  During the Vietnam War, he served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a jet mechanic.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Henry Rhodes; sister, Gwendolyn Rhodes; and his grandparents.

Survivors include his wife, Angie of the home; mother, Geraldine Rhodes of Oktaha; daughters, Mary Skaggs of Muskogee and Sandie Plunkett and husband Jeremy of Muskogee; sister, Janet Sipes and Husband Gale; brother, Jeff Rhodes and wife Brandy; step-daughter, Christy Keys and Husband Billy of Woodall; step-son, Bryan Adams of Hulbert; grandchildren, Cody Kraft, Brenner Skaggs, Rebecca Haley,  Laynee Fletcher, Justin Adams, Katy Adams, Denim Adams, Brystol Adams, Dakota Keys, Lexy Keys, Cash Keys; great-grandchildren, Padon Adams, Kaylee Adams, and Brooklyn Loveall; His friends and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Della Benge; Sister-in-law, Kathy and Terry Davis.  Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.
