Lawrence E. “Larry” Elmore

1925-2013

Lawrence E. “Larry” Elmore passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 in Newalla, Oklahoma following a short period of ill health.

Larry was born March 31, 1925 in Magnolia Arkansas, the son of Alonzo and Mary (Gill) Elmore. He was a veteran of WWII and retired from the US Army after 22 years of service as a computer analyst and programmer. He married Patsy Ruth Lewis October 28, 1950 in Van Buren, AR and the couple moved to Muskogee in 1976 where Larry worked for Elder Real Estate for several years. Larry and Patsy were active and dedicated members of the Westside Church of Christ in Muskogee. After the death of his wife, Larry moved to Newalla, OK to be with his grandson Mitchell Elmore. Larry was also preceded in death by a son, William Elmore; brother, Deward Elmore; and sister, Mary Calicott. He survived by grandson Mitchell Elmore and wife Cassie of Newalla, OK; two granddaughters, Kelli Perry and husband Brad of Rio Rancho, NM and Heather Elmor of West Melbourne, FL; five great-grandchildren, Kye Collins, Jacob Elmore, Logan Elmore, Kostyn Perry, and Camryn Perry; sister, Patsy and James Watson, Ponca City and brother Paul Elmore and Ola of Temple, TX.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 at the National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, OK with Frank Morgan and Don Readhimer officiating. Military Honors will be given by American Legion Post 56. Arrangements are entrusted to the Bradley Funeral Service. Online condolences to the family may be left at www.bradleyfuneral
