— Funeral services for Patricia Orene Walters, 95, longtime resident of Porter, will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5 at the Church of Christ in Porter with Mr. Mike Roberts officiating.

Orene was born July 17, 1918 to her parents, Oren W. and Pauline (Miller) Boen in Muskogee where she grew up and graduated high school. She was united in marriage to Otto ‘Toad’ Walters and moved to the Porter area in 1937. Orene was a clerical worker for many years at Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa until her retirement. Orene was always very active in her community and her church. She has been a dedicated member of the Church of Christ in Porter since 1944. Orene was also a member of the Home Demonstration Club, member and past President of the Porter Lion’s Club and member of the Three Forks Camping Club which allowed her to enjoy her time fishing. She also served as a ‘School Granny’ at Porter Schools where many school children knew her as ‘Grandma Orene.’ Surrounded by her family, Orene passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 1 in Muskogee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1980; her son, Bob Walters; her grandson Mark Walters; her granddaughter, Gina Lee Walters; sisters, Pauline Stoddard and Leila Mae Tatum and a brother, Oren ‘Sonny’ Walters.

Orene is survived by her son, John Walters and wife, Sue of Page, Arizona; her grandchildren, Greg Walters and Kellie Ussery and husband, Russell; great grandchildren April Cole and husband, Bryan, Steven Ussery, Desiree Saucedo, Micaiah Saucedo and wife, Caity, Stephanie Walters, Isaiah Walters, Kayla Lee and Amanda Walters; great-great-grandchildren, Braidon Bud and Addison Saucedo; a sister, Abby Frances Helmer of Muskogee; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
