Luther Brashier

1942 - 2013

Funeral services for Luther Brashier, 71, of Porum, OK, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 21, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Porum with Reverend Dustin Tidwell officiating. Pallbearers will be Shane Robinson, Jimmy Barnes, Shannon Fuller, Greg Parsons, Dennis Acker, and Melvin Parsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Frisbie, Danny Parsons, Don Jackson, Don Barnes, Doc Bellamy, David Barnett, and Rusty Dornan. Burial will be in Briartown Cemetery under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls.

William Luther Brashier was born May 17, 1942 in Briartown, OK, the son of Tom and Etter (Crain) Brashier and passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

Luther was a carpenter and drywaller until he was disabled in 1981. He also did small engine repair. He enjoyed riding four-wheelers and fishing. He was always there, ready to help a friend.

Survivors include his children, Larry Brashier of Muskogee, Laura Rainey and husband, Greg, of Muskogee, Lonny Brashier of Porum, Lloyd Brashier of Porum, Loren Brashier and wife, Brandie, of Tulsa; grandchildren, Kendra Deaton and husband, Tyler, of Ochelata and their sons, Landry and Liam, Buck Kennedy and wife, Donella, of Wagoner, Jessica Brashier and her fiancé, Andrew Quick, and their children, Caliyah and Colton, of Columbus, OH, Cody Brashier of Louisville, KY, Kyla Brashier of Muskogee, Jacody Cox and Angie of Eufaula, Jake Brashier of Porum; brothers, Lee Roy Brashier of Porum, Ernest Brashier and wife, Carol, of Checotah, sister, Letha Brewer of Gaston, NC; and special friend, Ava Fivekiller of Briartown. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lavena; brothers, Tom Jr. and Charlie; sisters, Marylou and Maebell.
