Donna Jane Capps, 72, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014.  She was born October 4, 1941 in Muskogee to Charles K. Capps and Zelma Elizabeth Vulgamore.  Donna grew up in Muskogee where she attended school and graduated from Muskogee High School. She continued her education by attending Northeastern State University where she obtained her Bachelor Degree.  She also received her Masters Degree in Speech Therapy from Tulsa University.  Donna began her teaching career as the first Speech Therapist in the Broken Arrow Public School System.  She was over the Speech Therapy Department in Broken Arrow when she retired after 30 years of service.

Donna's hobbies included fishing, spending time with family, and being outdoors.  She enjoyed fast cars and owned a 1962 Impala, a car she was very proud of.  She loved OU football.

Donna was known to be a very giving person and liked to help others.  She was also known for her funny sayings, and she loved to tease and laugh. She was of the Christian faith and used to sing in the church choir.  She loved Christmas as that meant time with her family, especially her nephews and their families.  Her house was always decorated lavishly during Christmas.

We all loved Donna and will miss her very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Zelma Capps.

Donna is survived by her sister, Charlene Cooper; her nephews, Kennon W. Cooper and his wife, Kendra, Charlton Cooper; her great nephews and nieces, Kendyl Biebel and her husband, Branden, and their son, Noah; Chris Cooper; Krysten Cooper; and Laura Jane Cooper.
