Jim Haley, age 68, of Muskogee, passed this life on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at the Muskogee Regional Medical Center. Jim was born to Edna (Ricketts) and Loren Haley on February 27, 1939 in Greensburg, Indiana. Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He also served in the U.S. Airforce and as a captain in the Civil Air Patrol. After leaving the military, Jim answered the call of the Lord and became a Methodist
Minister. He loved law enforcement. He worked as a deputy for the Muskogee County Sheriff's Department for a number of years before his health began to fail. Jim lived in the Okay and Muskogee area for the past thirty one years. He married Ruth (Powell) on August 3, 1991, in Okay, Oklahoma and they have shared over 16 years together. He enjoyed basketball, fishing and most of all, loved to spend time with all of his grandchildren. Jim was a member of the Wagoner Masonic Lodge # 98 and he also had a fascination and a great love for Eagles because they represented freedom. When he could get the opportunity, Jim was always adding to his Eagle collection. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; Edna and Loren Haley.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Ruth of the home His sons; Bob Haley and wife Kelly , James Haley and wife Renee and Brian Haley and wife Diana all of Wagoner. Mike Haley and wife Katrina of Muskogee,Butch Feuling and wife Diana of Stockton, Minnesota and also adopted to the family is Jack Honeycutt of Okay, OK. Daughters; Lanette Overing and LaJeanna Feuling both of Rochester, MN. Six brothers; Sonny Haley and wife Shirley of Greensburg, IN. Boyd Haley and wife Sandy of Nicholasville, KY. Harold Haley and wife Mary of Burney, IN, Tommy "Clint" Haley and wife Linda of Winchester, KY. Terry Haley and wife Paula of Greensburg, IN and John Haley of Greensboro, NC. Three sisters; Patti Neise and husband Ron of Bloomington, IN, Joyce Davidson and husband Mac of Ligonier, IN and Kathy Ashcraft of Cincinnati, OH.Twenty-two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A special family member Steven Ricketts. Numerous nieces, nephew other family members and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at the Shipman Funeral Home in Wagoner, with Reverend Bruce VonWald officiating. Interment will follow at the Three Rivers Cemetery in Okay, OK.
