Plina Soper Taylor


Plina Soper Taylor, 77, of Topeka, KS.

Plina passed away on Friday Nov. 8, 2013 at his home in Topeka, KS.

He was born Sept 1,1936 to Soper and Vernie (Stewart) Taylor. Plina grew up and attended school in Muskogee where he was very athletic and played both basketball and baseball in high school.

He married Elizabeth Deane (Betty) Stoddard Taylor on Jan 26, 1957. They lived in Wichita, Kansas where he worked for Boeing Aircraft before going into the U.S. Air Force, where he served 4 yrs.

After the Air Force he joined the Santa Fe Railroad where he retired on August 31st 1998, after 36 yrs of service.

Plina was proceeded by his parents Soper Blanco Taylor, Lee Vernie Taylor and brother Lloyd Wayland Taylor in death.

Plina is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Betty) of Topeka, KS, daughter Terry Smith of Lawrence, KS son Michael Taylor Topeka , KS, Sister and Brother in law Virginia and Bill Smith Sun City , CA, three grandchildren Brandi, Neal and Erica all of Kansas.

There will be a 10:00 am service at Memorial Park Cemetery in the Mussolini on Monday Nov. 18, 2013.
