Tonya Kay Johnson

1965-2013

Tonya Kay Johnson, 48, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013 in Tulsa, OK. She was born on May 26, 1965 in Stigler, OK to Dearl and Weynocia Lynn. Tonya displayed a love for the outdoors, animals and especially children. Tonya graduated in 1983 from Porum High School and later in 1983, she married Dan Johnson and together they spent over 30 years traveling and fostering over a dozen children. In 1997, her most prized possession, Trey was born. She enjoyed watching him play baseball, race karts, practice Go-Ju karate and play guitar. Active in children and youth ministries at both Calvary Baptist and New Community Church, she was always smiling and making those around her aware of the love of Jesus. To those who knew her best she was known as the gal who opened her home to any child with a need or an empty stomach.

Tonya was preceded in death by her grandmother Wilma Wade; grandparents Plunkett and Dicie Lynn; special cousin Patsy Campbell special aunt Linda Broyles; grandparents-in-law Elmer and Julia Johnson and grandfather in-law Charles Chambers; mother-in-law Kay Johnson.

She is survived by husband, Dan Johnson, Jr.; son, Trey Johnson; mother, Weynocia Lynn of Muskogee; father, Dearl Lynn and his wife, Glenda of Porum; sisters, Diane Few and her husband H.C. of Muskogee, Kimberly Hubbard and her husband Tim of Porum, Melissa Todd and her husband Patrick of Muskogee; brother Randy Lynn and his wife Angel of Porum, brother Bryan Lynn of Muskogee; grandmother-in-law Edna Chambers and father-in-law Dan Johnson, Sr.; mother-in-law Barbara; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, great nieces and great nephews, other family members and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday September 9, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Salters and Pastor Chris Dover officiating. Burial will follow at Coleman Cemetery in Porum with Trey Johnson, Dustin Brown, Ethan Perez, Patrick Scott, Seth Garland and Michael Johnson serving as pallbearers.
