M. Roberta Threlkeld

1943 - 2013

M. Roberta Threlkeld, 70, of Muskogee, died Friday, September 7, 2013. She was born March 4, 1943 in Blythe, California, the daughter of Ray Patrick Napier and Grace Leonard Napier.  She grew up in Muskogee attending Muskogee schools and graduated from Southern Colorado State University with a degree in nursing.  She served in the United States Air Force Reserves and traveled extensively.  She retired as a surgical nurse from the Department of Veterans Affairs in 1998.

Mrs. Threlkeld was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Navy Lieutenant Scott David Threlkeld.  She is survived by her husband, Carl; three sons, Steve (Leah) Threlkeld of Nevada, MO, Dan (JoAnn) Threlkeld of Sand Springs, and Jerry (Beverly) Threlkeld of Weleetka; four daughters, Shelly Threlkeld of Fort Gibson, Trisha Threlkeld of Falls Church, VA, Debra (Jerry) Whittiker, and Cheryl (Tim) Reed of Muskogee.  She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, Hollie (Alex) Risenhoover of Broken Arrow, OK, Scott Moses of Norman, OK, Joshua Threlkeld of Camp Pendleton, CA, Ariel (Greg) Hixson and Courtney Threlkeld and Zachary of Nevada, MO, Jeremy (Jenipher) Whittiker, Matt (Mendy) Whittiker, Tracie (Jeremy) Aldridge of Fort Gibson, OK, Madison Reed of Tahlequah, Ashley (Andy) Luksys of Austin, TX, Brian Threlkeld of Fort Collins, CO, Alisha (Bryan) Conley of Earlsboro, and Amber (James) Joslin of Weleetka; 11 great-grandchildren, Austin, Zachary, and Kristen Whittiker, Mason and Marissa Whittiker of Muskogee, Jasmine, Jalynn, and James, Jr. Joslin of Weleetka, OK, Bryce and Brendan Conley of Earlsboro, OK, and Ruby Luksys of Austin, TX; her step-mother, Maxine Napier of Muskogee; brother, Doug Napier of Muskogee; half sister, Sierra Sue Smith of Parker, Arizona; and half brother, Ray Napier, Jr. of Gulf Port, MS.

A memorial service for M. Roberta Threlkeld will be held at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel, 2801 Chandler, Muskogee, OK, at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 12, 2013 with Mr. Gene Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

In memory of Mrs. Threlkeld, the family prefers memorials to the Salvation Army.
