Sherry Nell Entz


Sherry Nell Entz, 73, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday morning, October 22, 2013 at her home. She was born August 4, 1940 in Clovis, New Mexico to Robert Weldon Hammack and Guarrie Stanley Hodges Hammack.  Sherry grew up and attended school in Clovis where she graduated high school in 1958.  She married her sweetheart, Roy Weldon Entz, on October 12, 1958 in Clovis, New Mexico.  Sherry and Roy later moved to Oklahoma where she enjoyed nothing more than tending to their children and making their house a home.   She worked outside of the home as a receptionist for American Bank and later as a medical assistant for Dr. Brownell.  Sherry’s faith was very important to her.  She attended First United Methodist Church where she has been a member for the past 44 years.  She was also a member of the Gad-A-Bout Square Dancing Club for 11 years, a hobby she enjoyed tremendously.  Sherry’s pride and joy were her grandchildren who she loved spending time with.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Guarrie Hammack.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Roy, of the home; daughter, Shelley Kentner and husband, Don of Liberal, MO.; sons, Ron (Ronnie) Entz of Colorado Springs, CO., Randy Entz and wife, Shannon of OKC, OK.; grandchildren, Kyle Kentner of Liberal, MO., Annie Entz and her mother, Nancy Entz of Edmond, OK., Bree Entz of OKC, OK.; her twin sister, Guarry Dell Fryar and husband Garvin of Ponca City, OK.; sisters-in-law, Clara Bartel, Wilma McKee, and Edith Entz, all of Hydro, OK.; several nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

The family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church or Good Neighbor Hospice.

Funeral services for Sherry will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Jack Kemper officiating.  Interment will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at Bethel Mennonite Cemetery in Hydro, Oklahoma. Honorary pallbearers will be the Wesley Class.
